Inessa Shur is a founding member of AMPS Law, and specializes her practice in landlord-tenant law. Inessa represents an array of market and subsidized property owners and management companies, ranging from single unit owners and real estate developers, to large national developments and commercial landlords. Inessa is an experienced litigator in all Housing Courts, as well as District, Superior and Federal Courts in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Additionally, Inessa regularly represents clients in matters before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD), Boston Fair Housing Commission and the HUD Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity. Inessa’s litigation practice ranges from summary process actions and evictions, to litigation involving criminal conduct and other behavioral violations in housing, fair housing and discrimination claims brought against landlords, and actions brought for various code violations, including the State Sanitary Code.
Inessa’s in-depth knowledge and commitment to the housing industry extends beyond representing her clients. Inessa is regularly appointed by the Housing Court to serve as Guardian ad Litem on challenging cases involving incapacitated litigants. Inessa has served on the panel and conducted several educational programs through the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE), including Mock Trial of an Eviction Case and What Real Estate Lawyers Need to Know About Short Term Rental Laws. Additionally, Inessa frequently lectures at other landlord associations including, MassLandlords, Black Diamond Real Estate Group, and Northern Worcester County Landlord Association (NWCLA).
Prior to AMPS Law, Inessa was the owner of Shur Law Group, LLC, which she founded in 2013, focusing her practice on landlord-tenant matters.
