Jeffrey Young

Jeff brings more than two decades of public service and leadership to AMPS Law. Before joining the
firm, he spent 21 years in law enforcement in the Boston area, serving in roles ranging from Patrol
Officer to Detective Sergeant. He led both the Criminal Investigations Division and the Patrol
Division, gaining extensive experience in investigations, supervision, and courtroom procedure.

 

Jeff became an attorney in 2012, completing law school while serving full-time in law enforcement.
He subsequently operated a successful solo practice handling a variety of legal matters, gaining
valuable experience working directly with clients and navigating the court system. He also has
significant experience with the Massachusetts Public Records law.

 

Jeff has served as faculty for MCLE and is an instructor for the Massachusetts Police Training
Committee, specializing in Report Writing. He has taught at several police academies, including the
Cambridge/Northeastern Academy.

 

Originally from Amherst, MA, Jeff has lived in the Boston area since 2003. In his free time, he
coaches his three children in softball, soccer, and hockey, and plays goalie in a coaches’ pickup
hockey league. He also enjoys physical training, woodworking, and landscaping. He can also
regularly be found getting his hands dirty under the hood of an old pickup truck.
